Entryway Breakdown

A high-impact refresh for the room that greets you first — a statement mural, a gold leaf light fixture, and one antique runner.

The finished entryway, doors open to reveal the chinoiserie mural, a colorful abstract painting, and layered vintage finds.

Oh, this room was so satisfying to bring to life! First, because it was an easier project to tackle since it was our entryway. Secondly, because it makes such an enormous impact visually when you first walk into our house. The biggest “bang for your buck” room in our house!

Before

The entryway before its refresh.

This room had several elements that were fairly easy to execute. The first thing installed is this amazing mural from The Mural Source. For a similar look without the to the trade ordering hassle check these murals out here, here and here. This was the largest expense in the room, but oh my goodness, it makes such a difference! I just love all the colors, and the plant and bird motif. They give such life to the space. The birds on the wallpaper just bring a smile to my face everyday.

During

The mural wallpaper panels laid out before hanging.
The wallpaper mural mid-installation, with the new gold leaf light fixture already hung overhead.

Next, I added this beautiful gold leaf light fixture which is sold out but I found a few similar here & here. It exudes the prettiest light pattern when the lights are on.

“The biggest ‘bang for your buck’ room in our house.”

Lastly, I added an antique red runner to the space. I found some similar to my antique here, here and here. This is a high traffic area so I wanted something red to hide the dirt and I love the red pop of color and I felt that the space could use some additional oomph.

Final Look

The finished entryway, watch the reel on Instagram.
And, that was it! High impact with a few key elements to tie the entryway together.
