What I'm Cooking From This June

Daisy Diaries · In The Kitchen · June 1, 2026

The cookbook I can’t stop cooking from this month — five recipes deep, with page numbers so you can skip straight to what’s good.

A bouquet of flowers next to an open cookbook and a pan of baked tamale pie on a marble counter.

It’s no secret that I love cookbooks! I often don’t follow the recipe to a “T,” but they provide me with so much inspiration. I have my own little cookbook library that I spend time going through each month. The cookbook I’ve been reaching for all month is Alex Snodgrass’ cookbook, The Comfortable Kitchen. It’s healthy and laid-back. There’s butter, there’s wine but also lots of veggies. I feel good about cooking from it for my family!

These are the recipes I’ve made this month that have been delicious, with the page numbers included. They all have the seal of approval from my kids, husband, and me! I’ve linked the book below — it’s definitely worth the $16. Happy cooking!

  • One-Pot Beef Stroganoff, Pg. 77
  • Spicy Shrimp Pasta with Tarragon and Basil, Pg. 81
  • Roasted Veggie Enchiladas Verdes, Pg. 104
  • Texas Tamale Pie, Pg. 120 (This was a HUGE hit!)
  • Sheet Pan Kielbasa with Mustard Vinaigrette, Pg. 129
The Comfortable Kitchen cookbook by Alex Snodgrass.
