Three go-to tricks for making low ceilings feel taller — straight from our own 1969 ranch.

I know I’m not the only one that has faced the challenge of 8ft ceilings.

Here are three of my go to tips for working with your 8ft ceilings and making your space feel taller. Let's give that 1960's ranch some love.

Hang vertically oriented wallpaper (here are a few of my favorite- here, here, here and here) like the paper that is in my dining room. This paper does for walls what a long grecian dress does to the wearer. It just makes you look tall!

Vertically oriented drapes and adding tape trim to drapes. Also, hang those curtain rods close from the bottom of your molding. Here are a few of my favorite curtain rods (I used these in our dining room, these in our living room pictured below and this rod in my daughter's room pictured below)

Hang big art!
